Collection: Jaltest Agricultural Vehicles

Jaltest Agricultural Vehicle Diagnostics

Modern agricultural equipment runs on the same diesel and electronic systems found in commercial trucks, but with added complexity. GPS-guided steering, ISOBUS implement controllers, hydraulic hitch systems, and Tier 4 Final aftertreatment all generate fault codes that require OEM-level diagnostic access to resolve. Jaltest agricultural diagnostics give you that access across 146 manufacturers, 2,458 models, 7,440 technical data entries, and 4,547 wiring diagrams, updated three times per year as new equipment hits the field.

Whether you run a multi-brand dealership, an independent farm equipment shop, or a mobile ag service operation, Jaltest replaces the stack of brand-specific dealer tools you would otherwise need. One platform. One subscription. Full coverage from compact utility tractors through four-wheel-drive articulated machines and Class 9 combines.

What Jaltest Agricultural Diagnostics Cover

Jaltest agricultural coverage spans four major subcategories, each with full diagnostic depth across all supported manufacturers.

Tractors

From sub-compact utility tractors to 620-horsepower articulated four-wheel drives, Jaltest covers the full tractor market. Read and clear fault codes on engine, transmission, hydraulic, GPS/guidance, and implement control systems. Perform injector coding, DPF regeneration, transmission clutch calibrations, and steering angle sensor learns, all functions that would otherwise require a trip to the dealer or a $25,000+ OEM diagnostic tool.

Supported tractor manufacturers include AGCO, Antonio Carraro, Bobcat, Branson, Case IH, Challenger, Claas, Deutz-Fahr, Fendt, Ford, Gleaner, Hurlimann, JCB, John Deere, Kioti, Kubota, Lamborghini, Landini, LS Tractor, Mahindra, Massey Ferguson, McCormick, New Holland, Same, Steyr, TYM, Valtra, and Zetor.

Harvest Equipment

Combine harvesters, forage harvesters, grape harvesters, sugar cane harvesters, and cotton pickers represent some of the most complex and expensive machines in agriculture. When a combine goes down mid-harvest, the cost is not just the repair. It is the crop sitting in the field. Jaltest gives you diagnostic access to header control systems, rotor and separator modules, grain handling electronics, engine aftertreatment, and hydrostatic drive systems across all major harvest equipment manufacturers.

Supported harvest equipment brands include Case IH, Claas, Fendt, John Deere (including the 6000 Series forage harvesters), Massey Ferguson, and New Holland.

Self-Propelled Implements

Self-propelled sprayers, windrowers, mowers, and specialty ag machines carry their own engine, transmission, and electronic control systems, separate from the tractors that would otherwise pull them. Jaltest provides full diagnostic access to these self-propelled platforms, including engine management, boom control systems, application rate controllers, and aftertreatment. Coverage includes machines from John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, AGCO/RoGator, Claas, and more.

ISOBUS and Implement Controllers

Modern implements communicate with the tractor through the ISOBUS (ISO 11783) protocol, a universal standard for tractor-implement data exchange. Jaltest reads and interprets ISOBUS data, allowing you to diagnose communication faults between the tractor and implement without needing separate tools for each. This is particularly valuable for precision agriculture systems where planter controllers, variable-rate application systems, and yield monitors all exchange data through the ISOBUS backbone.

Full Diagnostic Capabilities

Jaltest agricultural diagnostics go far beyond basic code reading. Here is what you can do with every supported machine.

Fault Code Reading and Clearing

Read active and stored diagnostic trouble codes from every electronic control unit on the machine: engine, transmission, hydraulics, aftertreatment, GPS/guidance, cab climate, and implement controllers. Jaltest displays OEM-specific fault code descriptions, not generic J1939 SPN/FMI translations. You see the same information the dealer technician sees.

Injector Coding and Calibration

When you replace an injector on a common rail diesel engine, the ECU needs the new injector calibration code to maintain proper fuel delivery. Jaltest handles injector coding for all supported engines. Enter the code stamped on the new injector, and the tool writes it to the ECU. No dealer visit required.

DPF and DEF System Service

Tier 4 Final agricultural engines use diesel particulate filters (DPF) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems identical to those on commercial trucks. Jaltest performs forced DPF regenerations, monitors soot loading percentages, checks DEF dosing system operation, reads SCR efficiency data, and resets aftertreatment-related adaptations. When a tractor throws a derate code in the middle of a field, you can diagnose and resolve it on-site.

Hitch and Joystick Calibration

Three-point hitch position sensors, draft control sensors, and electronic joystick controllers all require calibration after replacement or when the system drifts out of specification. Jaltest walks you through the calibration procedure step by step: raise the hitch, lower the hitch, set the endpoints. This applies to tractors from John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Fendt, and every other supported manufacturer.

Transmission Clutch Calibrations

Powershift and continuously variable transmissions (CVT) use electronically controlled clutch packs that require periodic calibration. Clutch fill times, engagement pressures, and shift parameters all need to be within specification for smooth operation and long clutch life. Jaltest performs clutch calibrations on supported transmissions, a function that dealers typically charge $500 to $1,500 to perform.

Hydraulic Spool Calibrations

Electronic spool valves control the flow and pressure to remote hydraulic circuits on modern tractors. When a spool valve is replaced or the system behaves erratically, calibrating the valve electrical range restores proper operation. Jaltest supports hydraulic spool calibration across the major tractor platforms, eliminating the need for a factory scan tool.

Steering Angle Sensor Learns

GPS-guided auto-steer systems and stability management systems rely on accurate steering angle sensor data. After a steering component is replaced (tie rod ends, steering orbital, angle sensor itself), the sensor must be recalibrated to the ECU. Jaltest performs this learn procedure, which is essential for precision agriculture systems that depend on sub-inch accuracy.

ECU Parameter Modification

Adjust configurable parameters stored in the ECU: PTO speed settings, hydraulic flow rates, engine speed limits, transmission shift points, and more. Jaltest gives you the same parameter access that a factory service tool provides, allowing you to configure the machine to the operator specifications without waiting for a dealer appointment.

Real-Time Data Streaming

View live sensor data from every electronic system on the machine: engine RPM, coolant temperature, boost pressure, exhaust temperatures, transmission pressures, hydraulic flow rates, GPS coordinates, and hundreds of other parameters. Compare actual values against specifications to isolate intermittent problems that do not set fault codes.

Interactive Wiring Diagrams

Jaltest includes 4,547 wiring diagrams for agricultural equipment. These are not static PDFs. They are interactive schematics that let you trace circuits, identify connector pin assignments, and locate components on the machine. When you are chasing an electrical fault in a wiring harness that runs through three sections of a combine, interactive diagrams save hours of diagnostic time.

Why Multi-Brand Beats OEM-Specific for Ag Dealers

The traditional approach to agricultural diagnostics means buying a separate factory tool for each brand you service. Here is what that costs.

Approach Initial Cost Annual Subscription Brands Covered
John Deere Service Advisor $8,000 - $15,000 $3,000 - $5,000/yr John Deere only
Case IH / CNH EST $5,000 - $10,000 $2,000 - $4,000/yr Case IH, New Holland only
AGCO EDT $4,000 - $8,000 $2,000 - $3,000/yr AGCO brands only
Claas CDS $5,000 - $10,000 $2,000 - $4,000/yr Claas only
Kubota Diagmaster $3,000 - $6,000 $1,500 - $2,500/yr Kubota only
Total for 5 OEM tools $25,000 - $49,000 $10,500 - $18,500/yr 5 brands
Jaltest AGV $5,000 - $12,000 Included for 1 year 146 brands

The math is straightforward. A single Jaltest agricultural diagnostic kit replaces $25,000 to $75,000 worth of individual OEM tools while covering 146 brands instead of five. For independent shops and multi-brand dealerships, this is not a marginal improvement. It fundamentally changes the economics of your service department.

OEM tools still have their place for deep programming tasks on specific platforms. But for 90% of diagnostic work (reading codes, running tests, performing calibrations, viewing wiring diagrams), Jaltest provides OEM-level access at a fraction of the cost.
