Getting Started
New to Jaltest? Here is what you need to know to get up and running:
- Unbox and inspect your kit. Verify all components are present: diagnostic interface adapter, cables, USB dongle (if applicable), and any included accessories. Compare against the packing list included in your shipment.
- Install the Jaltest software. Download the latest version from the official Cojali website using the credentials provided with your purchase. Run the installer on a Windows 10 or 11 laptop with at least 8 GB of RAM and a solid-state drive.
- Activate your license. Launch the Jaltest application and follow the on-screen prompts to register your hardware and activate your software subscription.
- Connect to a vehicle. Plug the diagnostic interface into the vehicle's diagnostic port (typically a 9-pin or 16-pin connector on commercial vehicles), connect the USB cable to your laptop, and select the vehicle in the Jaltest software.
- Schedule your training session. Call us at 800-217-0063 to set up a free one-on-one remote training session. We will walk you through the software, show you key features, and answer your questions live.
Troubleshooting
Running into an issue? Try these steps before calling support:
- No communication with vehicle: Verify the diagnostic cable is securely connected at both ends. Confirm the vehicle's ignition is in the ON position. Check that the correct vehicle make and model is selected in the Jaltest software.
- Software will not launch: Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Try running Jaltest as Administrator (right-click the shortcut and select Run as administrator). Verify your antivirus is not blocking the application.
- License activation error: Confirm your USB dongle is plugged in and recognized by your computer. Check your internet connection — activation requires a brief online verification. If the problem persists, call us with your hardware serial number.
- Slow performance: Close unnecessary background applications. Ensure your laptop meets the minimum system requirements (8 GB RAM, SSD recommended). Check for and install any pending Jaltest software updates.
- Missing vehicle coverage: Make sure you are running the latest software version. Some vehicles require specific cable adapters — contact us to verify you have the correct cable for your application.
Software Updates
Keeping your Jaltest software up to date ensures you have the latest vehicle coverage, diagnostic capabilities, and bug fixes.
- How to update: Open the Jaltest application, navigate to the update menu, and follow the prompts. Updates are downloaded over the internet and typically take 10 to 30 minutes depending on your connection speed.
- Update frequency: Cojali releases major updates quarterly with incremental patches throughout the year. We recommend checking for updates at least once a month.
- Subscription required: Software updates are included with your active annual subscription. If your subscription has expired, contact us at 800-217-0063 to renew.
